    Top 10 Perfect Autumn Cocktails

    Autumn is the season that’s full of vibrant colours, the weather has gone slightly colder and the nights slightly darker. That’s why Drinks House 247 have decided to put together these 10 autumn cocktail recipes together, to enjoy on a cosy autumnal evening.

    1. Bramble Cocktail

    This recipe for a classic Bramble gin cocktail is a great one to have in your repertoire. Our ingredients serve two people. 

    Ingredients

    • 50ml of Gordon’s Dry Gin
    • 25ml of lemon juice 
    • 12.5ml of sugar syrup
    • 12.5ml of crème demure  
    • Lemon wedge to serve
    • Blackberries to serve
    • Ice 

    Method

    1. Add the gin, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker and shake until combined. 
    2. Strain into a glass filled with ice.
    3. Drizzle the crème demure over the ice so that it bleeds through, and add the lemon wedge and blackberries on the top. 
    

    2. Toffee Apple Sour Cocktail

    Tantalise your tastebuds with this delicious toffee apple sour autumn cocktail. It’s perfect to have at a Halloween party or Bonfire Night treat. Our ingredients serve two people. 

    Ingredients

    • 50ml of Somerset Brandy
    • 20ml of lemon juice
    • 20ml of egg white
    • 10ml of toffee syrup 
    • 40-50ml of cider to top up
    • Ice 

    Method

    1. Put all the ingredients, except the cider, into a cocktail shaker and dry shake. 
    2. Add the ice to the shaker and shake again. 
    3. Strain into a small wine glass and top up with the cider. 
    

    3. Pumpkin Apple Shandy

    Pumpkin ale and apple cider come together for an easy autumn-inspired apply shandy cocktail. Our ingredients serve two people and we recommend serving straight away.

    Ingredients 

    • 330ml bottle of Pumpkin Beer
    • 440ml can of Apple Cider
    • 50ml of Bourbon (optional)
    • Apple slices to serve

    Method 

    1. Add the beer, apple cider and bourbon (if using) into a jug and stir carefully. 
    2. Pour into 2 glasses and garnish with the apple slices.
    

    4. Bourbon and Apple Fizz

    Apple and whiskey are a great match. Turn them into an innovative cocktail with a little help from Angostura bitters. Our ingredients serve two people and we recommend serving straight away.

    Ingredients

    • 50ml of Bourbon
    • 25ml of lemon juice
    • Sparkling apple juice 
    • Angostura bitters

    Method

    1. Put the bourbon, lemon juice and Angostura bitters into a cocktail shaker with ice and shake well to combine. 
    2. Strain the cocktail into a highball glass  filled with ice and top up with the sparkling apple juice.
    

    5. Apple Cider Old Fashioned

    A new spin on an old classic. When it comes to apple cider, it’s a perfect flavour for the autumn to add to your alcoholic drinks. Our ingredients serve two people.

    Ingredients

    • 50ml of Whiskey
    • 440ml can of apple cider
    • Angostura bitters
    • Ice
    • Apple slices to serve
    • Cinnamon sticks to serve

    Method

    1. Combine all the ingredients in a glass and stir to combine. 
    2. Garnish with an apple slice and cinnamon stick. 
    

    6. Campfire Cocktail

    Cosy up at home and recreate Bonfire Night with this sweet and smokey bourbon cocktail. Our ingredients serve two people.

    Ingredients

    • 50ml of Bourbon
    • 5ml of Malt Whiskey
    • Ice

    Marshmallow Syrup

    • 400g of caster sugar
    • 100g of mini marshmallows

    Method

    1. To make the marshmallow syrup, boil the marshmallows with 500ml of water. Once they have dissolved, add the caster sugar and stir to dissolve this until it’s fully combined.
    2. Stir all the ingredients over ice and serve with a toasted marshmallow. 
    

    7. Orange Hot Chocolate

    There’s nothing better than a drinking a luxury hot chocolate to watch the fireworks and bonfire. However, Drinks House 247 adding a splash of spice, with a couple of shots of rum.

    Ingredients

    • 50ml of Spiced Rum
    • 300ml of whole milk
    • 100g of dark chocolate 
    • 75ml of single cream
    • 1 zested orange

    Method

    1. Gently heat the milk and orange zest in a pan until it starts to simmer. 
    2. Take it off the heat and leave to infuse for 5 minutes before straining out the zest. 
    3. Add the dark chocolate and leave for 2 minutes before stirring until it’s melted.
    4. Stir in the single cream and return to the heat to warm up. 
    5. Add in a shot of rum and serve.
    

    8. Pumpkin Spice White Russian

    This pumpkin spiced white Russian is an autumn spin on a classic cocktail. It’s creamy and smooth and fragrant with coffee and pumpkin. Our ingredients serve two people, and we recommend serving straight away.

    Ingredients  

    • 50ml of Vodka
    • 25ml of coffee liqueur 
    • 2 tsp of pumpkin spice 
    • 100ml of heavy cream
    • 1 tsp of honey
    • 4 ginger biscuits

    Method

    1. Crumble the ginger biscuits on a plate and rub the rim of four glasses with honey. Then dip the biscuits in to coat. 
    2. Whisk together the coffee liqueur, vodka, and pumpkin spice in a measuring jug.
    3. Pour into the glasses and add the heavy cream. 
    

    9. Warm Bourbon Cider

    Give warm apple cider a kick with a splash of bourbon. Our ingredients serve two people.

    Ingredients 

    • 440ml can of apple cider
    • 50ml of Bourbon
    • 5 tsp of ground cinnamon
    • 3 tsp of nutmeg
    • 3 tsp of ginger

    Method

    1. In a saucepan, heat the apple cider, cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger. 
    2. When the mixture is hot but not boiling, remove from the heat and add the bourbon. 
    3. Stir to distribute the spices and divide into glasses.
    

    10. Boozy Dark Delight

    Enjoy this night-cap cocktail to round off your evening. Made with stout, whiskey and orange liqueur - it’s silky smooth and rich. Our ingredients serve two people.

    Ingredients

    • 50ml of Whiskey
    • 25ml of orange liqueur 
    • 200ml of stout
    • Chocolate orange shavings to serve
    • Ice 

    Method

    1. Drop a few ice cubes into a short glass and pour over the orange liqueur and whiskey. 
    2. Top up the drink with the stout, then garnish with chocolate orange shavings.
